Not many people like the international break, but it undoubtedly came at a good time for Aston Villa as it gave a couple of players an extra two weeks to recover from their injuries.
Before the international break, Villa made it 5 wins out of 6 thanks to a relatively comfortable 2-0 victory over league-strugglers Wigan. Next up for Villa is a home match against promotion chasing side Norwich City on Saturday afternoon.
Norwich currently sit 4 places and 6 points above Villa, who are in 12th. The Canaries are currently 5 points below Sheffield Wednesday and will be desperate to win in order to try to close that gap to 2 points. They plight might be helped by Wednesday’s poor form – they have only picked up one point in their last three matches.
While the possibility of a play-off place for Villa is all but gone (despite what the players have been saying) they will be eager to get a win which could see them move into the top 10 for the first time in a very long time. Furthermore, a good end to the season will give them a lot of confidence moving into next season.
This is how we expect Villa to line up for the match on Saturday.
