Aston Villa made it 6 wins out of 7 thanks to a 2-0 win over Norwich City on Saturday afternoon. What makes this impressive run of results even better is that those 6 victories have all been clean sheets.
Once again, Villa have Jonathan Kodjia to thank for all three points as he slotted home his 16th and 17th goals of the season – both goals taken with aplomb. It is safe to say that without Kodjia’s goals this season, Villa would be languishing a lot closer to the Relegation zone.
The result saw Villa move to 11th in the table – 14 points above relegation and 10 points below the 6th and final play-off position. Although there is still talk about sneaking into a play-off position, it is highly unlikely that they will be able to make up the ground with just 7 games remaining in the season. Realistically they will just be looking to finish the season on a high, so that they can enter next season full of confidence.
Tomorrow, they have the chance to make it 7 wins out of 8 when they take on QPR (who currently sit in 15th place, 4 points behind Villa) at home in the evening.
Here’s our predicted XI for the match against QPR on Tuesday evening.
