Aston Villa are eyeing a deal to sign Hull City winger Ahmed Elmohamady, according to the Mirror.
The Egyptian international couldn’t save The Tigers from relegation from the Premier League, and as Hull prepare for life in the Championship, Aston Villa are hoping to prise Elmohamady to Villa Park.
The former Sunderland man joined Hull’s ranks in 2013, and has made 149 appearances for the North-East side, scoring seven goals.
Last year, he put pen to paper on a three-year contact extension on Humberside, but with Villa vying for his signature, it’s decision time for the winger.
Aston Villa seem to be deep into the transfer market this summer, with the Midlands club lining up some quite high-profile signings, as they look to gain promotion back to the Premier League next campaign.
Manchester United goalkeeper Sam Johnstone and Chelsea legend John Terry are among the names that Villa are keen on signing, as Steve Bruce aims to add experience to his ranks. And Elmohamady would add another dimension at Villa Park.
