Villa join multiple Championship clubs in race for Harry Wilson loan move

Aston Villa have entered the race to secure the services of Harry Wilson on loan from Liverpool.

The Welsh international spent last season on loan at Hull City, where a fruitful spell saw him score seven goals in 13 appearances in the Championship.

Keen to see the 21-year-old continue to receive first-team football, Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp is reportedly willing to wave goodbye to Wilson for another term.

Penning a new Reds contract before he departs, Paul Joyce of The Times claims that a number of Championship outfits are interested in the winger.

Amongst those clubs is Aston Villa, who may well attempt to restock their attacking options amidst a supposed mass exodus of final third talent. With Ross McCormack AWOL, rumours also appear to be suggesting Scott Hogan and Jonathan Kodjia could be on their way out of Villa Park this year.

Wilson scored Liverpool’s first two goals in Saturday’s friendly against Chester, and made his mark as a lively presence in the upper reaches of the pitch.

Having received four Welsh caps, Wilson scored his first goal for his national side in a friendly against China.
