Dean Marney is in training with Aston Villa following his release from Burnley, according to the Mirror.
The long-time Clarets midfielder appeared for the club on 221 occasions, after joining from Hull City prior to the 2010-11 season.
With 88 Premier League appearances to his name, the pedigree of Marney is almost undeniable.

The 34-year-old did not feature in Burnley’s 2017-18 season, which saw the club qualify for the Europa League for the first time in 51 years.
Marney began his career with Spurs in 2003 having risen through the youth academy, and made eleven appearances for the North Londoners before his sale to Hull in 2006.
The Barking-native was a critical part of Hull’s 2007-08 promotion campaign, making 45 appearances that year.
With Villa’s financial situation increasingly bleak by the day, new signings may be hard to come by in future transfer windows, and as such the club must look into available free agents to add fresh talent to the club.
