Aston Villa are close to agreeing a deal to sign Liverpool winger Sheyi Ojo on loan, according to a report from David Maddock of The Mirror.
The 21-year-old has spent time on loan with Wigan Athletic, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Fulham over the last three seasons, so he knows the Championship well, and it looks like Steve Bruce wants to bring him to Villa Park.
Ojo impressed many observers in pre-season, but with the likes of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Xherdan Shaqiri ahead of him in the pecking order, his chances of getting game time at Liverpool seem slim at best so a loan move seems like the best plan for all parties.
Liverpool have shown a willingness to let their youngsters move to the Championship on loan this season, with Harry Wilson and Ben Woodburn joining Derby County and Sheffield United, respectively.
Villa are looking for reinforcements as they look to secure promotion after losing last year’s playoff final and Ojo would be a welcome addition to their squad.
