Aston Villa were unable to secure a loan deal for Liverpool’s Harry Wilson as they were unwilling to pay the £1m loan fee that the Reds were demanding, according to reports.
Liverpool ultimately let Wilson make a temporary switch to Derby County, but Villa were one of the sides who were hoping to take the winger on loan.

After a successful spell at Hull City at the end of last season, there was a lot of interest in the Welsh international and Liverpool looked to capitalise on that by asking for the substantial loan fee.
Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce was apparently keen to sign the youngster but the club were not ready to pay £1m to take a player on loan.
As such, Wilson was able to move to Derby and Villa were forced to look elsewhere for attacking reinforcements.
