Aston Villa’s new owners have put their stamp on the club after reportedly firing seven of Steve Bruce’s backroom staff, according to the Daily Mail.
The new owners are clearly keen to make changes behind the scenes from the very beginning of their reign as they trim the numbers in order to run Villa’s transfer dealings the way they want it.
Villa’s loan manager Tommy Mooney was one of the employees to lose their job as the club goes through a restructure under the new ownership.
The other members of the club who have lost their job include six scouts, while the biggest name departing Villa Park is Ian Atkins who was drafted to the club by Steve Round, former technical director, in 2016.

Atkins was brought in as a chief scout and was tasked with identifying potential signings for both Steve Bruce and the board of directors.
With a reshape of the club’s scouting system also looming, the report goes on to add that Villa could also be on the lookout for a new sporting director.
