According to a report in the Irish Independent, Aston Villa are after Bournemouth midfielder Harry Arter.
The 29-year-old, who has been capped 14 times by the Republic of Ireland, is currently out on a season-long loan at Cardiff City, but it believed that the Cherries are considering calling him back so that they can cash in on him before the window closes in 11 days.

Arter, who has become a bit of a fan favourite at the Cardiff City Stadium, has been a ray of light in what has ultimately been a very difficult season for the Welsh side. They are currently sitting in the Relegation Zone, two points below Newcastle United in 17th.
While Villa are reportedly interested in acquiring his services, they face stiff competition from Watford, who could soon be looking for a replacement for Abdoulaye Doucoure – he has been linked with a £50 million move across the English Channel to PSG.
The adopted Irishman would be a great signing for Villa as his ability to play as a defensive midfielder would provide Dean Smith with solid cover for his shaky back four.
