Aston Villa boss Dean Smith is pleased following his side’s 2-1 victory over Ipswich on Saturday afternoon.
Tammy Abraham, on loan from Chelsea, scored twice before Freddie Sears pulled one back for the away side, but Villa did enough to earn the three points against the Championship’s bottom club.
Villa dominated large periods of the game and would have recored a more convincing victory but for a number of missed chances.
Abraham scored after just six minutes before adding a second from the spot on the hour mark, his 18th and 19th goals of the season, though the striker will be disappointed to have not completed his hat-trick

Another Chelsea loanee Trevoh Chalobah almost snatched a point for Ipswich late on but his glancing header struck the outside of the post.
And speaking to Aston Villa TV following the game, Smith revealed he was happy with the win he felt his side deserved.
I thought we were well deserved winners, we started the game really well and were camped in their half for long periods. They’ve had some spells during the game but it was a deserved victory today.
The victory was Villa’s first since a 1-0 win away against Swansea on Boxing Day, and leaves Smith’s side in 10th place in the Championship, four points behind Derby County who are in a playoff position.
