According to a report in Telefoot, Marseille’s Gregory Sertic has turned down a move to Villa Park as he would prefer to play his football in La Liga or the MLS.
It is believed that Villa wanted to take the 29-year-old holding midfielder on loan for the rest of the season, but a move to England’s second division doesn’t seem to appeal to him.

Sertic joined Marseille in 2017, but he has made just 24 appearances for the club in the two years that he has been there. This is mostly because he suffered a bad anterior cruciate ligament injury that kept him out for a long period of time.
It is now believed that he wants to move elsewhere for a new challenge, as long as the club he moves to is in Spain or America.
Dean Smith is desperate to add a holding midfielder to his ranks before the transfer window slams shut tomorrow evening, but it looks like he is going to have to continue his search elsewhere.
