Both Birmingham City and Aston Villa have today been charged £5,000 each for failing to control their players in the Second City derby, the BBC report.
The game that took place earlier this month, where Villa came out winners thanks to a Jack Grealish strike, was marred by two key incidents.
The Championship duo have been given this fine because of a heated situation that occurred in the fifth minute of the clash at St Andrew’s, following a foul on Villa captain Grealish.
The Blues are also facing a second charge from the Football Association for the incident between Grealish and a pitch-invading Birmingham fan that struck the midfielder from behind.
Aston Villa won the game 1-0 earlier this month, but the match will be remembered for happenings away from the great winning strike from Grealish.
Villa will be looking to put this fine behind them when they make their next outing in the Sky Bet Championship as host Blackburn Rovers at Villa Park on the 30 March.
