Tyrone Mings will only join Aston Villa in a permanent capacity if they get promoted this season, according to a report in the Birmingham Mail.
The defender was signed from Ipswich back in 2015, but had recently struggled to find regular minutes at Bournemouth, prompting his loan move to the West Midlands.
Making nine appearances for Dean Smith’s side so far, the 26-year-old has endeared himself to fans with his performances, and has been a large part of the upturn in form at Villa Park.

The report claims that the loan deal includes a clause that would allow Villa to match any deal the Cherries receive for the Bath-native, but that would only apply should his loan team manage to earn promotion back to the top-flight.
Given how the season has played out, it seems Villa’s only chance at promotion is to go through the playoffs, but with four wins in their last four, the Midlanders are the form side in the second tier.
