Villa manager Dean Smith has high hopes that their leading goalscorer Tammy Abraham will be back in the squad in time for the Championship play-offs.
The Chelsea loanee star sustained a shoulder injury in Villa’s match against Bolton, where the Villians won 2-0, deeming him unavailable for their next game.
They beat Millwall 1-0, breaking a club record of 10 successive wins, something they haven’t managed for 109 years, courtesy of a Jonathan Kodjia strike against the Lions, and Villa now sit comfortably in fifth place.
Although Kodjia stepped up in his absence, Smith has confirmed that Abraham will return in time for the play-offs. Speaking to AVTV, as cited on Goal, Smith said:
Tammy has damaged his shoulder. He’s had a scan on it. There’s nothing displaced with it, I don’t believe. There’s nothing damaged. He probably won’t be ready for Leeds. But he will be back before the end, that’s for sure.

With the season drawing to a close, Villa will be looking to finish strongly, with their remaining games against Leeds and Norwich; two tough fixtures.
Netting a total of 25 times so far this season, Abraham will be an important piece to the squad in the play-offs, as Smith’s side look for a return to the Premier League.
