After Leeds failed to make a return to the Premier League last season, losing out in the play-off semi-finals to Derby, it was suggested that a few of their star men would leave over the summer.
Andrea Radrizzani has admitted that player sales will play an important role in funding the club as they look to gain promotion back to the Premier League, but it doesn’t look like Phillips will be one of them.
Leeds are said to value the player at around £20 million and Villa have reportedly expressed an interest, but only for a price of £14 million, a fair way short of the Championship club’s valuation.
BBC reporter Adam Pope has suggested that Kalvin Phillips wants to stay at Leeds now Marcelo Bielsa has committed his future to the club for another year, much to the delight of supporters from the Yorkshire club.
Speaking about Phillips’ future at Elland Road, Pope said:
I understand he wants to stay especially with Bielsa remaining.
