Aston Villa have made an approach to Burnley for goalkeeper Tom Heaton, according to Rob Dorsett of Sky Sports.
Villa manager Dean Smith is keen to bring in a new goalkeeper and was interested in Heaton’s England teammate Jack Butland, but Stoke’s asking price of around £25million means the Villans are exploring other options.
Burnley have just haded Nick Pope a new contract at Turf Moor and as such, they’re willing to listen to offers for Heaton and Joe Hart.

33-year-old Heaton has been impressive in his six years with the Clarets but with Sean Dyche seemingly placing his faith in the younger Pope, the veteran goalkeeper is free to find a new club.
Burnley will reportedly be looking for bids in the £7million for the England international, but it remains to be seen if Villa will be willing to spend that much money on a veteran goalkeeper at this time.
