Liverpool have slapped a £25million price tag on the head of 22-year-old winger Harry Wilson amid heavy links with Aston Villa and Premier League rivals Newcastle United.
Wilson starred for Villa’s Championship play-off final opponents Derby County last season, netting 15 league goals for Frank Lampard’s side, and is thought to have been guaranteed game time at Liverpool during the upcoming campaign.
His output has unsurprisingly sparked interest from top-flight clubs though, and the Reds may be open to losing their academy product if the right offer comes in for him ahead of the summer transfer deadline.
According to the Mirror, Villa and Newcastle are leading the race for his signature but a total of £25m will be required due to Jurgen Klopp’s reluctance to let him leave.
The German manager is said to accept Wilson may want regular minutes at the highest level though, which could open the door for Villa if they are serious in their pursuit.
