According to a report by Football Insider, Aston Villa have made a move to sign Matt Phillips from local rivals West Bromich Albion.
The Baggies are preparing for another season in the Championship, but it looks like they could be doing so without one of their better players.
The 28-year-old winger, who can also play as a wing-back, has the ability to cause defenders all sorts of issues due to his lightning-quick pace and direct runs.

West Brom have been able to keep him up until now, but he is entering the final year of his contract so they might have to cash in or risk losing him for free when next summer comes around.
It is believed that Phillips is looking for a return to the Premier League, but whether West Brom will sell one of their star players to their local rivals remains to be seen.
If they do, he will be another very good addition to Villa’s squad.
