Aston Villa starlet Andre Green has signed for Preston North End on a season-long loan.
The 21-year old winger is highly regarded at Bodymoor Heath and following Villa’s high profile spending spree this summer, Dean Smith will be hoping for the youngster to get some valuable minutes under his belt at Deepdale.
The arrivals of Trezeguet, Jota and the permanent signing of Anwar El Ghazi had pushed Green further down the pecking order, meaning a short-term spell away from the club appeared to be the best option for all parties involved.

Green’s switch to Deepdale is a really positive step for the forward. Having spent some time with Portsmouth last season in League One, it is important to see Green step it up a level again and if he can’t win immediate favour in the Premier League, then a short-term spell in the Championship would do him good.
Aston Villa have strengthened their squad to the degree where it would be difficult to accommodate Green, but a loan to Preston would indicate that Villa still have every intention of seeing their young star develop.
