Monaco are interesting in signing reported Aston Villa target Mattia Perin, according to reports in Italy.
The Italy international goalkeeper had been linked with a move to the Villans, as the newly promoted Premier League side were keen to add another goalkeeper this summer.
However with Dean Smith’s side having signed Tom Heaton from Burnley earlier today, it can be assumed that Villa have put any prospective deal for Perin on ice, at the very least until they can shift other players if not for good.

Heaton joins Villa’s stacked rank of goalkeepers, with Jed Steer, Orjan Nyland and Lovre Kalinic all vying for a starting birth this season. Unless one of more of those options are now moved along, a prospective deal for Perin wouldn’t make logical sense.
According to Tuttosport, as reported by Calciomercato, French Ligue 1 side Monaco are likely to take advanage of the situation and move for the Juventus man, who is said to be valued at around €15million.
Financially Monaco are in a position to compete with any interested parties for Perin’s signature, and with Villa effectively out of the race the principality club could move in.
