Aston Villa have been informed that Qatari club Al-Gharafa are willing to pay £7million to sign Jonathan Kodjia, as per a report from Football Insider.
Al-Gharafa, who are currently managed by former Fulham and Watford manager Slavisa Jokanovic, wanted to sign Cenk Tosun from Everton but were unable to negotiate a deal with the Merseyside club.
Villa paid Bristol City £15m for Kodjia back in 2016 but with his contract coming to an end in the summer, they might be forced to sell him at a cut-price cost or face losing him for free at the end of the season.
The Ivorian international scored 29 goals in 90 Championship appearances for Villa, but he’s found himself out of Dean Smith’s Premier League team, with the manager mainly using Wesley as his loan striker.
Al-Gharafa have until next Tuesday to get a deal done with Villa, but it remains to be seen if the Midlands club are willing to sell.
