Aston Villa suffered a second consecutive defeat on Sunday afternoon, losing 4-3 to Southampton.
After a superb start to the Premier League season, Dean Smith’s side found themselves 4-0 down to the Saints at one point during the fixture at Villa Park.
James Ward-Prowse (2), Danny Ings and Jannik Vestergaard were the scorers for the visitors, and the latter’s opening goal has been a talking point among many of the Villa Park faithful.
The Danish centre-back rose well in the air to head the Saints in front, but some Villa fans were left scratching their heads at the player chosen to mark him.
Vestergaard, who is 1.99m in height, was marked by Villa midfielder John McGinn, who stands at just 1.73m.

Villa fan Andrew Ashburn’s tweet about the “embarrassing aerial mismatch” saw plenty of other supporters discuss the club’s defensive frailties, with one blaming Smith and assistant coach John Terry.

Villa did get themselves back in the game against Southampton but goals from Tyrone Mings, Ollie Watkins and captain Jack Grealish weren’t enough to rescue a point from the game.
