Many Aston Villa fans have reacted to comments made by prolific former Premier League striker Ian Wright over the passion and quality shown by Matty Cash this season.
Arriving at Villa Park this summer from Nottingham Forest, Cash has enjoyed a strong start at his current club. The £10.8m-rated defender has featured in all of Villa’s seven Premier League games this term so far, gaining himself an average match rating of 7.22 out of 10 by WhoScored.com.
Such performances have helped Villa start the season well, with Dean Smith’s side sixth in the Premier League table. A 3-0 win over Arsenal before the international break saw Villa make it five wins out of seven, which also included a 7-2 thrashing champions Liverpool.
Twitter account @villareport shared Wright’s comments, which featured on his podcast.
