Laurie Whitwell of The Athletic believes Manchester United are still interested in Jack Grealish but didn’t say whether the Red Devils will make a move for the Aston Villa playmaker in January.
The 25-year-old has been outstanding for Villa and England this season, so it’s no surprise that many clubs have him on their radar.
Villa tied down the playmaker on a new contract until 2025 in September, so they aren’t obligated to cash in early or for any less than they perceive his value to be. The Midlands outfit are in a strong negotiating position and will still have one of the Premier League’s best playmakers on the books if no move arises.
With Grealish scoring six goals and providing six assists in 10 games across the board this season, it’s easy to see why United are keen. Only Bruno Fernandes has had as many assists as Grealish for the Red Devils (six), so the Englishman would be an enhancement to the Red Devils’ squad if they were to sign him.

Villa would prefer to keep their talismanic midfielder for as long as possible, but that becomes more difficult when more clubs enter the transfer race.
Unless a suitor is willing to stump up around £100m, though, Grealish looks set to remain at Villa Park.
In other news, Aston Villa are unlikely to loan out this attacker in January.
