Emi Martinez is one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League and is doing his bit to help the next generation – particularly his son Santi. The 28-year-old posted a video on his Instagram story, testing his child’s reflexes in goal and teased him after scoring a number of times.

Emi has two children called Santi and Ava. The former was accepted into Aston Villa’s Football Academy in 2020 and has been training with his dad to become a better goalkeeper. Whether he has what it takes to last at Villa remains to be seen, but Emi is doing everything in his power to improve his abilities.
As for the Argentine stopper, his career is going from strength to strength. Martinez has made 40 appearances in all competitions since joining on a four-year deal from Arsenal, conceding 49 goals and keeping 16 clean sheets.
Martinez won the Copa America with Argentina this summer and is finally realising his potential as a shot-stopper. He should start between the sticks against Brentford on Saturday afternoon.
Santi couldn’t wish for a better goalkeeper to learn from, so he’s getting the best possible education.
