Aston Villa returned to winning ways after their defeat to Liverpool, beating Norwich City 2-0 on Tuesday evening. The Villans made light work of the Canaries at Carrow Road and Tyrone Mings was one of many players who impressed.
The 28-year-old delivered a dominant display alongside Ezri Konsa, making more interceptions and more clearances than any other Villa player while stifling Teemu Pukki. Mings’ passing wasn’t the best at times, but he was still given a player rating of 8/10 by Birmingham Live. Fans on social media hailed his performance.
Against Norwich, Mings played for 90 minutes, had 55 touches, won one aerial duel, completed 71.1% of his 38 passes, had two interceptions, made eight clearances, gave away one foul, won one freekick and had two successful dribbles.
The 28-year-old has made 16 Premier League appearances this season, keeping five clean sheets for his troubles. Mings isn’t without his flaws, but he looks a different animal under Steven Gerrard and helped to limit Norwich to only three shots on target at home.
It’s no surprise Mings is a regular for England after performances like Tuesday.
