Aston Villa ended their three-game winless run in the Premier League with a 1-0 victory against Everton and Lucas Digne was one of many players who impressed at Goodison Park. Fans on social media have been delighted with the form Digne’s showing and hope it continues.
The 28-year-old was coming up against his former club and received a lot of animosity from the home supporters, but he delivered a brilliant performance on Saturday afternoon and deserved his player rating of 8/10 by Birmingham Live.
Against the Toffees, Digne played for 90 minutes, had 92 touches, won one aerial duel, assisted the winning goal, completed 64.5% of his 48 passes, created two chances, whipped in three crosses with 66.66% finding a teammate, completed two of seven long-range passes, made two tackles, blocked one shot, made three interceptions, had one successful dribble, won two freekicks and gave away one foul.
The French international has made 17 appearances in all competitions this season, two of which have come in a Villa shirt. Digne has helped the Midlands outfit pick up four points from his first two appearances, so his arrival from Everton has had a positive response.
