Aston Villa enjoyed a 3-1 win at Burnley on Saturday afternoon and Emiliano Buendia was one of many players who impressed at Turn Moor.
The 25-year-old got on the scoresheet and grabbed an assist, posing a constant threat in attack until he was substituted in the second half. Buendia even had the opportunity to score more goals if not for wayward finishing.
No player who started for Villa had a better pass completion ratio than Buendia and no player had more shots, so his decision-making was on point.
Buendia played a slide-rule pass for Danny Ings to fire home from close range, and he peeled away from his market brilliantly to be picked up with a low cross that he converted.
Ashley Preece of Birmingham Live gave the Argentine international a player rating of 9/10 and said he was the ‘best player on the park’. Preece also praised Buendia for his brilliant passing and movement off the ball.
Grey Whitebloom of 90min gave a player rating of 8/10 said he ‘clinically’ exploited the space to be a threat in attack. Cole Pettem of 7500 to Holte gave Buendia a player rating of 8/10 and called him ‘magical’ while crediting his ‘passion’ and ‘purpose’ on the ball.
Against Burnley, Buendia played for 78 minutes, had 45 touches, won one aerial duel, completed 89.3% of his 28 passes, had three shots with one hitting the back of the net, created one chance which ended up an assist, made one tackle.
