- Aston Villa remain interested in Manchester City’s Omar Marmoush
- Currently, City do not want to sell
- Villa previously attempted to sign him on loan in January before they made a move for Tammy Abraham
Manchester City forward Omar Marmoush remains a target for Aston Villa. Having previously attempted a loan move in January for the Egyptian, the Villans may reignite their interest in the summer with a permanent offer.
The Manchester City forward has struggled for regular minutes this season, and despite Pep Guardiola’s side not wanting to sell him, he could force an exit for a starting spot elsewhere.
He has started only seven Premier League games, scoring two goals and providing three assists. In total, he has made 19 appearances.

Clubs circling after January interest
As Donyell Malen was sold in January by Villa, they needed to bring in another striker. Before they signed for Tammy Abraham, it was revealed that they attempted to make a loan offer for Marmoush, but couldn’t agree on a deal with City.
Tottenham were another club that made an approach, but they were also unable to complete a move.
A number of Premier League clubs are still monitoring the situation, as a potential departure looms over the Etihad.
Football Insider’s Peter O’Rourke explained Villa’s attempt in January.
“There was a bit of interest in Marmoush in the January window from a few clubs.
“Aston Villa looked at it before they signed Tammy Abraham, and I’m sure there’ll be clubs at home or abroad who would be looking at the Egyptian in the summer window if the player himself does feel the need to move on in search of a new challenge as well.
“So look, it’s not an easy deal to do. He’s got three years left on his contract, and City did spend big money when they signed him from Frankfurt.”

If Villa qualifies for the Champions League, it will give them a huge boost financially for their plans in the summer transfer window.
Securing Marmoush would be a significant statement of intent and would provide them with the quality to transform their current forward line.
His pace and direct goal threat are exactly what Villa needs. Moreover, his ability to play anywhere across the front three gives Unai Emery flexibility in attack, and also suitability to his system.
A deal would represent the next step in Villa’s future as they look to attract elite players to help them establish themselves as a regular in the Champions League.
