Aston Villa have been handed a firmer transfer line on Emi Martinez as Juventus continue to test the market for the Argentina goalkeeper.
According to Football Italia, citing Sky Sport Italia, Villa’s asking price is set at around €10m plus add-ons, a figure Juventus are not currently prepared to meet. Gazzetta dello Sport has separately framed the gap closer to €15m, underlining how the issue remains club-to-club rather than player-to-club.
Juventus Still Face Villa Price Reality
Martinez remains under long-term contract at Villa Park, and that gives Unai Emery’s side a stronger hand than the raw numbers suggest. Juventus may see age, wages and the absence of Champions League revenue as reasons to push the fee down, but Villa have no obligation to treat an elite goalkeeper as a cheap exit.
The 33-year-old is also away with Argentina at the 2026 World Cup, adding another practical brake to any accelerated deal. Villa have already had regular international focus around Martinez this summer, including his latest Argentina selection picture.
The key point is control. If Juventus want Martinez as a statement goalkeeper signing, Villa’s stance makes clear that sentiment, salary pressure and market noise will not be enough on their own.
For Emery, the message is equally simple: either Villa bank a fee on their terms or keep a proven match-winner through pre-season.
