Emiliano Martinez to Juventus is becoming increasingly likely after the Aston Villa goalkeeper’s representatives held talks with the Italian club.
Former Villa scout Mick Brown believes the 33-year-old will leave Villa Park before the transfer window closes.
Football Insider reports that Juventus have moved ahead of other interested clubs as Martínez continues to seek a new challenge.
Brown said he would be surprised if the Argentina international remained at Villa. He believes Luciano Spalletti’s public comments indicate that Juventus are seriously pursuing an agreement.
Martínez made his position clear last summer, when a potential transfer failed to materialise. Unai Emery had reportedly hoped Champions League qualification might persuade his goalkeeper to stay.
However, Brown claims the player’s desire to leave has not changed.

Spalletti recently described Martínez as a goalkeeper who wants to change clubs. The Juventus manager also confirmed that his side want greater competition between the posts.
ReadAstonVilla reported that Juventus remain interested in Martínez, but the clubs remain apart over the transfer fee.
Villa reportedly want between €10million and €15million. Juventus have been reluctant to meet that valuation, while Martínez remains under contract until June 2029.
The latest reports from Italy also stress that Juventus have not reached an agreement with Aston Villa. They continue to assess Zion Suzuki, Anatoliy Trubin and Guglielmo Vicario as alternative goalkeeper targets.
Villa publicly stated earlier this month that they had no intention of selling Martínez. His agent’s talks and continued preference for a departure have placed pressure on that position.
Emiliano Martinez to Juventus now appears possible, but personal interest alone will not complete the transfer. Juventus must submit an acceptable offer before Villa sanction the departure of Emery’s first-choice goalkeeper.
