Aston Villa Women have confirmed a Noelle Maritz contract extension ahead of the 2026/27 Women’s Super League season.
The Switzerland defender has committed her future after making 59 appearances since joining from Arsenal in January 2024.
Villa announced the agreement on Monday, although the club did not disclose the length of the new contract. Maritz has spent two-and-a-half seasons in the Midlands and established herself as a dependable member of Natalia Arroyo’s squad.
WSL Full-Time reports that Villa moved to retain the 30-year-old following another consistent campaign. She has become a regular option in defence and brings valuable WSL experience to Arroyo’s group.
Maritz described the decision as straightforward because she feels comfortable at Villa. She also praised the atmosphere within the squad and the club’s ambitions before the new campaign.

The Switzerland international previously represented Wolfsburg and Arsenal before moving to Villa. Her career has included extensive experience in domestic competition, European football and at international level.
Her renewal follows a significant change elsewhere in Villa’s defensive group. ReadAstonVilla recently reported that Sarah Mayling completed a permanent move to Leicester City after making more than 100 appearances across two spells.
Keeping Maritz gives Arroyo an established senior defender while the squad continues to evolve. She already understands the demands of the WSL and can support the integration of Villa’s younger additions.
