Bertrand Traore joined Aston Villa on a four-year deal from Olympique Lyonnais in 2020 and scored seven goals with seven assists from 36 Premier League in his debut season, but his second term at Villa was a disappointment. The 26-year-old made just 10 appearances this campaign, failing to score or make an assist while amassing […]
It’s no secret that Morgan Sanson is unwanted at Aston Villa and doesn’t have a future under Steven Gerrard, so a summer sale is surely on the cards. The 27-year-old finds himself behind Douglas Luiz, Marvelous Nakamba, John McGinn, Tom Iroegbunam, Carney Chukwuemeka and Jacob Ramsey in the pecking order, so he won’t get playing […]
Douglas Luiz has been a regular for Aston Villa this season, making 35 appearances from a possible 41, but his performances have left a lot to be desired at times and his future in the Midlands is uncertain. Luiz is out of contract in 2023 and isn’t close to putting pen to paper on an […]
Aston Villa were linked with a move for James Rodriguez in April but have since gone on to sign Philippe Coutinho permanently, so that should end any suggestion of him coming to Villa Park. The 30-year-old joined Al-Rayyan SC on a two-year deal from Everton last summer and has gone on to make 15 appearances […]
Aston Villa have defensive-midfielders in the squad with Boubacar Kamara, Marvelous Nakamba, Morgan Sanson and Douglas Luiz at their disposal, but Kamara might be a squad player, Sanson is surplus to requirements and Luiz isn’t a natural in the role, so Steve Gerrard is keen to sign an experienced option this summer. Leeds United’s Kalvin […]
Aston Villa want a defensive-midfielder this summer and have been linked with Leeds United’s Kalvin Phillips, but transfer expert Dean Jones doesn’t believe the Midlands outfit stand a chance of signing him. Aston Villa endured a disappointing season, finishing 14th in the Premier League table with fewer points, fewer wins, more defeats and more goals conceded, but Steven Gerrard has responded quickly in the transfer market to ensure his side start strongly in 2022/23. He signed Philippe Coutinho on a permanent deal from Barcelona, brought in Boubacar […]
Aston Villa have been very busy this summer, signing Phillipe Coutinho from Barcelona, Boubacar Kamara from Olympique Marseille and Diego Carlos from Sevilla, but Peter O’Rourke doesn’t believe they are done yet. Steven Gerrard has been open about his desire to sign a defensive-midfielder, so O’Rourke is tipping Villa to return for Brighton & Hove […]
Lovre Kalinic is coming to the end of his 18-month loan spell at Hajduk Split and will return to Aston Villa this summer, but his future in the Midlands is uncertain as he’s not made an appearance for the Claret and Blues since 2019. Wesley Moraes endured a disappointing loan move at Club Brugge earlier in the season, resulting in him joining Sport Club Internacional midway through the campaign. But his stint in Brazil has spiralled for similar reasons as in Belgium, so the 25-year-old hasn’t exactly endeared himself to Steve Gerrard. The 42-year-old was appointed Aston Villa manager […]
Despite signing Diego Carlos from Sevilla, Steven Gerrard appears to be on the hunt for another centre-back this summer. Aston Villa were recently linked with Burnley’s James Tarkowski who is out of contract in the coming weeks, but his arrival would leave Gerrard with six/seven defenders. The Villa manager has Tyrone Mings, Ezri Konsa, Kortney […]

Forest won their Championship playoff final with Huddersfield Town and the Mirror say they’re now contemplating signing the 24-year-old permanently.
