TWO GOOD
MIDFIELD IMPROVING
The midfield has been a talking point for some time at Villa Park, but today against Chelsea they coped well with Gana able to pull the strings from midfield. The performance of Carles Gil was not too pleasing, but he was out ran and out muscled by Ramires. Gil was simply in the wrong position. There was more creativity though than in recent months.
I can justify a second good point from the game, the pressing in the first half was great, but there was no end product. Everything that was good in the first half was dismantled in the second with Sherwood unsure what to do with Matic breaking up anything Villa took forward.

TWO BAD
Guzan
It was a criminal error letting Shay Given leave. Yes Given was on a hefty wage, but Guzan is awful, he panics when on the ball and he is just a disaster waiting to happen. Villa were comfortable in the first half today, and it was ruined by Guzan’s stupidity. It cannot go on any longer. Get Bunn in; Get Sarkic in; Get Siegrist in; Get Steer in or just buy a new keeper in January! Guzan is costing Villa more points than ever this season.
Tim Sherwood
Tim Sherwood used to wear track suits last season and had a scruffy look. This season Sherwood has smartened up and the results have tumbled since. This is a similar pattern to Paul Lambert when he was the Villans boss. Is it a pattern?
Also, Sherwood dropped Jordan Amavi today and brought in Kieran Richardson – it was a poor decision. Amavi has been by far Villa’s best player so far this season. Tactically bar that Sherwood got his line up spot on today. Villa dominated and were the better team for most parts. Is it time for a change? No. He deserves two more games. Today was promising.
Two good two bad is a completely satirical opinion based article – mixing dry humor and the reality of every game.
