Aston Villa have dismissed Tim Sherwood as manager with Sherwood having nearly two and a half years still to run on his contract. The length left on his contract means that the former-Spurs manager will have a healthy compensation package from Villa.
Sherwood was dismissed on Sunday morning alongside Ray Wilkins, first-team coach Mark Robson and performance analyst Seamus Brady. Gregg Evans from the Birmingham Mail has revealed this evening that Sherwood could in line for a healthy £2-million pay off.
A High Price To Pay
The compensation that Sherwood will get is shocking and indicates how badly it went wrong for the now former-Villa boss. Villa had big hopes for Sherwood when he signed a three-year deal and led the Villans to the FA Cup final, but it has gone terribly wrong and now Tom Fox and Randy Lerner must search again for a new manager after only eight months with Sherwood at the helm.
