The Villans sacked Tim Sherwood on Sunday after only eight months in charge at Villa Park with Villa sitting bottom of the Premier League table. Sky Sports earlier reported before removing from their Twitter that the Villa hierarchy were refused permission by Lyon to speak to coach, Gerald Baticle about becoming Garde’s assistant at Villa Park.
Could This Become Embarrassing?
Remember when Aston Villa appointed Alex McLeish as manager? It was on the back of an embarrassing hunt for a manager with Roberto Martinez turning down the job and Mark Hughes even resigning from his position at Fulham to take over at Villa Park. The situation here is slightly different given the time period, but the last thing that is needed is for Villa to be chasing around managers.
