Lerner Visits Garde

Aston Villa owner and chairman, Randy Lerner has flown out to meet the Villans prospective new manager, Remi Garde. John Percy from the Daily Telegraph reports that Lerner flew out earlier this week to hold talks with the Frenchman with the Midlands side keen to announce Garde as their new manager before next Sunday’s clash with Manchester City.

Garde earlier this week pulled out of TV duties for the French TV channel, Canal+ with Percy reporting that a three and a half year deal is understood to of been agreed upon with Garde’s representatives and the Villa hierarchy.

It is believed that Garde would want to bring two former assistants with him from the French Ligue One side, Lyon with Villa willing to pay the compensation for both men with the Villans caretaker boss, Kevin MacDonald saying in his press conference that “If they’re desperate (the Villa board) to get them then they’ll pay the money.”

Finally Relief

The news that a deal for Garde could soon be wrapped up is music to the Villa fans ears. They have had a long anxious week with links to the likes of Gus Poyet and defeat to Southampton in the cup. Now it is time to step forward under a new regime.
