Aston Villa’s past two managers have both been lined up as early favourites for the Blackburn Rovers job after the Championship side dismissed Gary Bowyer of his duties after a run of poor form.
Both Paul Lambert and Tim Sherwood have been installed as the bookies favourites for the job with Paul Wheelock from the Lancashire Telegraph tweeting that Lambert is the favourite for the job.
Paul Lambert has been out of work since being dismissed by Premier League strugglers, Aston Villa in February 2015 with the Scot previously creating his name in management at Colchester United and Norwich City.

Meanwhile, Tim Sherwood was captain in the year Blackburn lifted the Premier League title in 1995 and has been priced at 6/1 by BetVictor. The former-Villans boss will be looking to resurrect his managerial career after a huge downfall in form and fortune during his time at Villa led to him being sacked last month with the Midlands side firmly in the relegation zone.
