Garde says his regime rules are “not negotiable”

Remi Garde has made it perfectly clear that it will be his way or the highway as Aston Villa as he imposes his own rules and standards on the club.

The Frenchman has introduced a few new rules for the players and says that he does not care what happened under Tim Sherwood’s management, as he’ll be doing things his way.

Garde had the players in on Wednesday, despite that being scheduled as a day under the previous manager. He’s also insisted that the team stay together in a hotel the night before home games in an attempt to keep the team together for a longer period.

Speaking ahead of Villa’s clash with Watford, Garde said he does not think the players are bothered by the changes that he’s introduced.

I don’t feel that the players are perturbed by the way I am preparing the team. Of course it is slightly different from what they were used to doing but it’s still football with the ball and with 11 players.

It is nothing to perturb the players. I am very close with all my players and I am open-minded and I can understand some stuff. Some things are negotiable and some are not and there are a lot that are not because I think I am in a position where I have to give direction and I feel the players are very happy with that.

I don’t know exactly what has been done before and it’s not so important for me to know.

It makes sense for Garde to be looking to shake things up at Villa. They currently sit rock bottom of the Premier League table with just five points from 13 games.
