Garde on Traore’s Villa career

Garde on Traore’s Villa career

Adama Traore is the breath of fresh air Aston Villa fans crave, especially while Villa are rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table.

When you glance on Twitter you’ll see fans screaming for Adama Traore to play a bigger part in Remi Garde’s team, but all they have seen is his direct runs and explosive, bullish style.

Remi Garde speaking in his weekly press conference told the press that Adama is ‘inconsistent’ comparing him to Lionel Messi in some light by saying, “You cannot have a player except for maybe Messi who can walk on the pitch and only play when his team has the ball. Nobody can do that.”

The Villans manager described Traore as having ‘brilliant skill’ and that his dribbling ability was also ‘tremendous’. But he also said that he needed to put more effort in ‘like every other player.’

“How long do you hold the ball, one minute 30, two minutes? Then what are you doing for 88 minutes?

“If you are not doing well especially in the situation where we are, it’s quite a problem. We need hard workers.

“I don’t mean Adama is not a hardworker but he is young and inconsistent and he needs to work.

No start for Adama yet? – Matt Lynch

Adama Traore excites the Villa fans. He is the sort of player who can light up dull games and score goals. But for Remi Garde he may be too direct for The Villans current predicament.

It is clear Garde wants team players and more often than not Adama attempts to go alone. I think he will get his chance soon, but he needs to show his willingness to track back as well as be a menace.
