Aston Villa captain, Micah Richards has blasted Match of the Day pundit, Ian Wright over his comments about the centre-back’s performance in Villa’s 2-0 defeat to Norwich City on Monday afternoon.
In three tweets Richards slams Wright for his criticism about his marking on the BBC Premier League highlights programme. He says how he can take ‘constructive criticism but not this’ and he asks what being captain has anything to do with the comments.
Twitter: @IanWright0 I respected you as a player! And your not a bad pundit but talking about me like that isn’t on!! (@MicahRichards)
Twitter: @IanWright0 what has captain got to do with it? (@MicahRichards)
Twitter: @IanWright0 I can take constructive Criticism but not this! (@MicahRichards)
Richards was largely at fault for The Canaries first goal when he failed to pick up on the run of Jonny Howson. He was also out of place for Norwich’s second goal late on in the game.
Wrong time and place Micah – Matt Lynch
Micah Richards is captain and should lead by example. He is wrong to have put his thoughts on Wright’s comments online with Villa in such a sorry state. This seems to show pressure building with such reactions to negativity. The negativity should be expected with Villa 11 points adrift.
