Remi Garde is on the verge of being sacked, according to the Telegraph.
Garde, who was appointed at the beginning of November with the aim of keeping Villa up, has only won two league games with Villa firmly rooted to the bottom of the table as the season draws to a close.
The defeat to Swansea at the weekend, courtesy of a howler from Brad Guzan, was Villa’s sixth consecutive defeat and ended any glimmer of hope that Villa had of maintaining their status as a Premier League club.
Garde, who arrived at Villa Park after a successful three year spell with Lyon which ended in 2014, wasn’t backed by the Villa board in January despite assurances funds would be available to bring in his own players, according to John Percy.
If Garde is sacked before the season comes to it’s conclusion, Villa U21 coach Kevin MacDonald and current first team coach, Eric Black, would be expected to take over first team duties until a permanent manager is appointed.
Would sacking Garde be the right decision?
