Adrian Bevington has been brought in to assist David Bernstein and the football board in its current review of the club it is undertaking, Aston Villa has confirmed.
Bevington, the former managing director of Club England, a position he held from 2010-2015, has been brought in to help David Bernstein and the football board continue its review into the footballing side of Aston Villa.
The review has already seen the dismissal of Hendrik Almstadt, whilst Tom Fox also left his post earlier this month. Furthermore, the continuing review is expected to result in the dismissal of head of scouting, Paddy Riley and manager, Remi Garde in the next few days.
The move to bring Bevington into the club means that Bernstein and Bevington are able to re-establish the working relationship they had whilst Bernstein was chairman of the FA from 2011-2013.
Speaking about the decision to bring Bevington in, to the club’s official website, Bernstein said:
“Adrian has a wealth of experience with over 20 years working at the highest level of football.
“He was the Managing Director of Club England and worked with many managers and coaches during his 17 years at The FA.
“More recently he has worked with several Clubs and the Welsh FA, and I’m convinced his experience, contacts and understanding of football will be a tremendous asset to Aston Villa Football Club.”
