Aston Villa’s new manager Roberto Di Matteo will speak to the press later on today, but he has given his first interview with the Villans official media team including giving a message to the fans.
The takeover to Chinese businessman Dr Tony Xia was confirmed yesterday and he went in front of the club’s photographers alongside Di Matteo at Villa Park yesterday ahead of Wednesday’s press conference.
The new ownership is coming in…it has exciting plans, I think that really rocked my boat.
It is said that Di Matteo could get up to £35-million to spend on players this summer plus any revenue made on the sales of players as he bids to get Villa back to the Premier League at the first time of asking.
The only way is up.
Furthermore, the Birmingham Mail reported yesterday how the Italian is looking to bring in a performance analyst to work alongside his other new members of the backroom staff, Steve Clarke, Kevin Bond, Massimo Battara, and Max Marchesi.
If we manage to turn it around it can be a very happy place.
We will bring full comments from Di Matteo’s press conference later.
