Fixtures against Birmingham City rescheduled

Villa’s fixtures against Birmingham City have been rescheduled, the club have confirmed.

When the fixtures were released last Wednesday, Villa fans attention turned to the first match against our second city neighbours.

The first game between the two sides was originally scheduled to take place on Saturday 29th October at St Andrews, but will now take place on Sunday 30th October.

Likewise the return fixture at Villa Park, which was originally scheduled to take place on Saturday 22nd April, will now take place a day later on Sunday 23rd April.

Both games will kick-off at midday, with the dates changed after consultation between the respective clubs and West Midlands Police.

It will be the first meeting in the league between the sides since January 2011, with that game ending 1-1 at St Andrews.

Villa not having lost to Birmingham City in the league since March 2005, with Villa also winning the last game between the two sides, after Rudy Gestede’s header won the third round League Cup tie between the two sides last year.
