Stiliyan Petrov has had arguably the greatest sporting careers of any in the world having recovered from leukemia and playing football again in a bid to get a contract with Aston Villa.
He retired from the professional game back in May 2013 to focus in his fight against leukaemia. He initially came back to Villa as a coach the same year helping out before leaving to carry on with his remission and treatment.
Petrov returned back to the coaching set up with the Villa academy in 2015 and earlier this year announced that he was taking part in training with Villa’s Under 21 squad to help his fitness bid as he looked to return to the game as a player.
Roberto Di Matteo revealed a few weeks ago that Petrov would be part of Villa’s squad for their training camp in Austria. He hit this sweet strike in training.

The 37-year-old made a return in a Villa shirt on Saturday in a friendly vs the Austrian sixth division side GAK 1902 in an 8-0 victory for the Midlands side.
