Aston Villa target Modou Barrow has been told that he can leave Swansea City this month, with Newcastle United also reportedly interested in him.
According to a report in the Birmingham Mail, the Gambian has a release clause of just £5million and Swansea are hoping to use him as part of a player-plus-cash deal to sign Villa forward Jordan Ayew.
Villa are unlikely to let Ayew leave but apparently still like the idea of signing Barrow but it appears that Newcastle are in the same boat.

They’ve been linked with moves for a few wingers this month, including a surprise return ti St James’ Park for Andros Townsend, so it looks as though they are definitely in the market for a wide man.
Barrow featured regularly for Swansea under Francesco Guidolin and Bob Bradley but new boss Paul Clement looks to have decided that the player isn’t needed and is willing to let him leave.
