Jedinak says Villa have edge over Fulham
Mile Jedinak has spoken to the media about Aston Villa’s promotion chances and Fulham and their impressive form helping them catch up with the Villans, as per Get West London.
Villa sit in third, four points behind Cardiff City in the automatic promotion spots, and four points ahead of fifth-placed Fulham, who recently beat Steve Bruce’s men 2-0 at Craven Cottage.
This is only one glimpse of Fulham’s recent form. The West London side has gone 12 games unbeaten, winning nine out of that period, seeing them soar into the Ply-Off spots.
Their 2-0 win over Villa saw an end to the Villans’ seven match winning run, and they just got their first win since then at Hillsborough, beating Sheffield Wednesday 2-4.
With 12 games to go, absolutely anything can happen in the race for the Play-Offs, with eleventh placed Leeds United only six points outside the top six.
However, Jedinak sees Fulham as their main Play-Off rival but says that Villa’s togetherness and unity is something that will see them finish higher than the Whites, and maybe even in the automatic promotion places.
The Australian said in an interview (via Get West London):
I’d say togetherness is the most important thing, which is something I’ve seen a lot of in this side.
The fans are really buying into this team and there’s a real mentality here now that we’re one big family.
You only need to look at the scenes after the final whistle against Sheffield Wednesday.
