Villa offer contract to former Nice striker
Aston Villa have offered a contract to Strasbourg’s Stephane Bahoken, according to French network RMC.
The striker is out of contract at the French club so wouldn’t cost anything and a host of clubs are chasing his signature.
Regardless of if Villa win the Championship play-off final this weekend, they will need at least one new striker. Lewis Grabban has been on loan with them since January and it remains to be seen if they will try and sign him permanently.
Strasbourg finished 15th in Ligue 1 this season with 38 points, and Bahoken is expected to leave the club with more attractive offers on the table.
He scored nine goals in 32 appearances this season for them, but now four French sides who finished above them are after the Cameroonian international.
Udinese in Italy have also tabled a bid, while Barnsley, just relegated to League One, have tried to sign him.
That chances of him moving there are almost nil, but a move to the Midlands could be on the cards as Villa try to build on their attack.
