Bruce hit with huge target of money to raise this summer
Steve Bruce has been asked to raise £50million this summer to help keep Aston Villa afloat, according to Mirror Sport.
This is the situation Villa face with the threat of a financial crisis looming.
A number of Villa’s top stars are likely to leave this summer, with £40million rated Jack Grealish, James Chester, Albert Adomah and Jonathan Kodjia are likely to leave in order to raise funds.
Not only are Villa losing money, they have also been hit by Financial Fair Play, and will need to raise funds rapidly in order to comply with regulations.
The club have already lost a number of high profile players, with loan stars Robert Snodgrass and Sam Johnstone having returned to their parent clubs, and with John Terry’s contract having expired.
Bruce remains keen on staying with the Midlands club, despite interest from Leeds United in his services.
It remains to be seen how Villa will come back from this issue, having had promotion to the Premier League and economic security ripped from their grasp.
